An OEM sample should be approved as a complete application package, not as an unlabeled bottle that happens to bond one test part. The sample record should identify the adhesive grade, substrates, joint gap, dose, cure condition, package, and final acceptance method. This gives purchasing, engineering, and production the same reference before a commercial order.
Define the sample brief
Before requesting a sample, provide the supplier with:
- substrate names, surface finish, part drawing or photographs, and expected joint gap;
- application tool, dose or bead size, target fixture time, and production takt;
- appearance requirements, environmental exposure, and final strength test;
- bottle, tube, nozzle, label language, carton, and destination-market requirements.
| Sample item | Record before testing | Approval question |
|---|---|---|
| Adhesive | Grade, lot, viscosity, color, and package | Is the sample traceable and correctly identified? |
| Joint | Substrate, preparation, gap, and overlap | Does the test represent the production joint? |
| Process | Dose, fixture method, temperature, and humidity | Can the result be repeated on the line? |
| Result | Handling time, final strength, appearance, and failure mode | Does it meet the customer’s written criterion? |
The cyanoacrylate product range can provide candidate grades such as low-viscosity S505, medium-viscosity S508, or a higher-viscosity CA-S1500 reference. A product page is not a substitute for sample approval on the customer’s parts.
Run a reproducible acceptance test
Use representative parts and keep the application method fixed. Record surface cleaning, dose, assembly pressure, fixture time, conditioning, and the final test. If the sample fails, record the failure mode and process conditions before changing the grade. One successful hand test does not prove repeatability.
Handover from sample to production
The approval pack should include the signed sample result, product and package reference, artwork revision, quality checks, storage instruction, and change-control contact. TongLin OEM service can help organize the brief for bulk or private-label supply.
Sample approval is not a guarantee for an untested substrate, environment, or package change. Validate the final configuration on production-representative parts, then send the approved specification and volume plan through Contact.
